You Must See Marakele National Park and Predator Centre

For adventurers that are looking to travel to Thabazimbi and see what there is to consider, you’ll want to focus on two major options. These two are natural resources that attract many people to visit, and could very well be your favorite place to see, because it’s truly one of the unique spots in the world. These two options include Marakele National Park and Predator Park. Each one has a unique focus, and something that will help you understand the bigger focus of seeing what nature has for you overall.

Marakele National Park

Going to South Africa is going to showcase an interesting thing for you. This becomes especially true when you visit the Waterberg Mountains. This is a location that has been defined as a “place of sanctuary”. Focusing on this National Park will give you a look into the transitional location of South Africa’s regions. This location has dry and moist elements, which transition throughout the landscape, giving you an incredible view of wildlife, foliage, and so much more that you won’t get anywhere else. You can take a walk through the area, get a guided tour, and take safaris that will give you a full view of wildlife that you cannot see anywhere else, in their natural habitat.

The Predator Centre

If you want to look at a secondary option, one that will showcase the beauty of the wildlife that is in the South African region of Thabazimbi, then you will want to visit this location while you’re in Marakele. The Marakale Animal Sanctuary or Predator Center has a lot to look into. This preserve has various predators and animals that you can visit, watch during feeding time, and get close and even touch some animals you would otherwise not get to handle or play with. That includes Lions, that are kind, and calm, and much more. You will have to pay a small fee for this excursion, but it will put you up close and personal with some of the wild life of the area.

If you’re going to travel to Thabazimbi, you will need to spend some time visiting these two locales. Whether you want to take a guided tour, or you want to explore under the stars, you’ll find that you can find yourself amidst the most beautiful of locations in South Africa, and just about anywhere in the world. This is a location that speaks to the beauty of nature, with wild animals, stars, and views that you may have seen in the pages of “National Geographic”.

Include Both Parks on a Safari

Often the best (and worst) ways to visit these parks is through a safari tour operator. There are many. Some of them provide personal bespoke tours as part of their buying power. Smaller, cheaper operators usually don’t have this power and just get you into the park and toss you in with other unaffiliated groups. It’s probably cheaper that way, though not always, but harder to control. Just depends on what you like.

In general, what we tell people who come to us is that the best experience is through a safari company because of the aforementioned. It is more expensive, but not prohibitively so. With an outfitter, you will get access to the best guides who know the most, speak the best English, and in general know the secret spots and have better relationships with animals.

We don’t like to play favorites. We don’t want to list the bad safari companies that we know, but if call us we will let you know if you are onto one of the less reputable ones. In general, the bad players have already been run off. For the good ones, you probably already know their names: Micato, Rothschild, Zicasso, Scott Dunn, etc. If you are interested in one of them, you have our blessing on all. If you are getting pushy, we recommend Rothschild bespoke safaris mainly because have had a relationship with Leora for more than 15 years. We like how she does business and uses every experience that they recommend. That’s hard work and she and her crew have been at it like that for 20 years or so. Plus, she is a South African. She’s our countrywoman.

But seriously,
